I bought this gorgeous knitting book from the 1940's because I wanted the fairisle pattern for the toy soldiers. Yvette said she remembered seeing a photo of Dad wearing this jumper when he was 2 years old and standing in front of their house Poppy was building in Jannali. She found the photo in the computer file.
And here is a photo of the boy with the pattern now somewhat older. I would love to recreate this jumper for one of the grandsons.
How cute would that be to recreate it. What colours do you think might have been in Dad's jumper? Do you think the jumper was yellow or cream? The solders would have been mainly red and blue wouldn't they?
